Terms of Service

Welcome to MeuPastor. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MeuPastor (the "Service"), provided by Meu Pastor App, operator of the meupastor.app domain ("Meu Pastor App", "we"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. What MeuPastor is

MeuPastor is a Bible research and pastoral reflection tool powered by artificial intelligence, with answers grounded in real Bible verses. The Service uses generative AI models (Google Gemini) and semantic search over a vector database of biblical texts.

2. Important notice — nature of the Service

MeuPastor is a research and study tool. It is not, and does not replace:

  • in-person pastoral counseling, ministry, confession, or spiritual direction;
  • medical, psychological, psychiatric, or mental-health advice;
  • legal, financial, or professional advice of any kind;
  • diagnosis, treatment, or cure of any condition.

AI-generated responses may contain theological inaccuracies, incorrect citations, or "hallucinated" (fabricated) content. You should verify any information against your trusted Bible translation and faith community. Personal, spiritual, financial, medical, legal, or any other decisions made on the basis of the Service's responses are solely your responsibility.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and have legal capacity to enter into contracts. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity on your account.

4. Plans, payment, and cancellation

We offer a free plan with a daily message quota and recurring paid subscription plans. Payments are processed by Stripe. You can cancel at any time; paid access remains active until the end of the period already paid for. Brazilian consumers benefit from a 7-day cooling-off right under Art. 49 of the Brazilian Consumer Defense Code.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • engage in unlawful, fraudulent, abusive activity, or violate third-party rights;
  • generate, request, or distribute content that is hateful, violent, abusive, exploitative of minors, or otherwise prohibited by applicable law;
  • circumvent security measures, quotas, or technical limits of the Service;
  • reverse-engineer, mass-scrape, or use the Service to train competing models;
  • impersonate any religious figure, leader, or institutional representative.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, its brand, design, code, and materials are owned by Meu Pastor App or its licensors. The biblical texts used are in the public domain (Almeida Atualizada for Portuguese; King James Version for English). You retain ownership of your message content; you grant Meu Pastor App a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process that content solely to operate the Service (including transmission to the Google Gemini API).

7. Warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," without any warranty, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, theological accuracy, completeness, uninterrupted availability, or error-free operation.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Meu Pastor App's total liability to you for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of US$100 (one hundred US dollars) or the amount actually paid by you in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Meu Pastor App is not liable for: (i) spiritual, personal, medical, financial, or legal decisions made on the basis of the Service's responses; (ii) interpretations or citations generated incorrectly by the AI; (iii) temporary unavailability arising from third-party service failures (Google, Stripe, hosting providers); (iv) indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunity.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including gross negligence, willful misconduct, and any liability that cannot be excluded under Brazil's Consumer Defense Code or other mandatory consumer-protection law.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Meu Pastor App against third-party claims arising from your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time through the Service's settings. We may suspend or terminate your account, with reasonable notice, in case of breach of these Terms, court order, or Service discontinuation.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated at least 15 days in advance. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The forum is the district of Meu Pastor App's domicile, save where Brazilian consumer protection law (CDC Art. 101) mandates an alternative forum.
